UNIwise celebrates ten-year anniversary

On 15 August 2022, UNIwise celebrated its tenth birthday. From starting as a cross-university project out of Aarhus University funded by the Danish Government Foundation for Welfare Technology to operating across Europe and providing a digital assessment platform for students across the globe, we reflected on the decade that was.

To celebrate the occasion, UNIwise staff from across the globe got together in our Aarhus office. We kicked off the week with a reception for those colleagues who had been working at the company for all ten years and those that had been with us for five years.

We spent the rest of the week working together, planning and attending workshops to strengthen our connections as a team and grow our skills. Agile scrum master Per Beining gave us an interesting and engaging talk on approaches to project management and software development. Colleagues discussed Agile and how to function effectively in a team, reinforcing the themes of collaboration that we were focusing on during our time together. We also reflected on cultural intelligence, an important factor when working with transnational teams and customers.

We took staff photos on the Aarhus University campus, where we have recently secured a full institution-wise rollout of WISEflow. ‘It’s coming home,’ Rasmus noted, and there were big smiles all round.

Reflecting on one of our company values - Think Big - we built spaghetti marshmallow towers. The winning tower was 87cm tall.

On Friday, UNIwise colleagues, family and friends and many of our higher education partners came together to celebrate ten years of WISEflow at a reception in the office, during which Rasmus Blok and Steffen Skovfoged, co-founders and Executive Directors of UNIwise, reflected on a brilliant ten years and looked forward to the bright future of UNIwise.

‘It’s been one hell of a ride to get where we are,’ Rasmus said, addressing UNIwise colleagues. ‘But without your hard work, skills, willingness to forgive and forget - and not least your sense of humour - we would not have made it. So, from our hearts, we want to thank all our employees for contributing to our success.’

We are incredibly thankful for all the partnerships we have made with institutions over the last decade and all the people we have worked with. We look forward to continuing to champion digital assessment on the global stage and supporting the HE sector to transform education.
