UNIwise partners with Swedish Monterro

UNIwise has partnered with B2B software investor Monterro. The partnership will enable us to strengthen our platform, provide better support for our customers and support greater outreach in Europe. Likewise, we will be better resourced to secure both our customers’ success and product fit in the years to come while scaling.

Monterro specialises in scaling Nordic software companies and has a proven track of supporting companies into market leader positions. Monterro is led by specialists and industry entrepreneurs, who invest their own money alongside the funds they manage. Monterro will support with strategic and operational knowledge to enable the expansion of UNIwise and our product-leader platform. Together with a Nordic mindset, this provides a perfect match for UNIwise in our ambitions to grow and scale our company, while strengthening our service and product offerings for our customers.

UNIwise has, for a while, been looking for a partner, one that believes in UNIwise, and in WISEflow as the platform, and can help us scale more. UNIwise has always been focused on Europe as the primary market, and it has been important to find a partner who believed in this approach and understood the complexity of being a European edtech provider. We are glad that Monterro matches our views going forward, together with our values, culture and approach. We are confident that Monterro is the right family for UNIwise to be part of.

While Monterro will gain a majority ownership of UNIwise, all current owners will remain in the company, now with a minority ownership. Rasmus Blok, co-founder of UNIwise said: “Securing continuity and stability going forward are key, and the investment is, of course, in our people and competence as much as it is in the product and company. I am glad all current owners and employees are part of the journey of taking UNIwise to the next level.”

Steffen Skovfoged, co-founder of UNIwise, said: “Going the extra mile to support our customers’ success is at the heart of what we do. This investment will help us to strengthen our ties with customers and scale our services – basically, to do what we do now but better and at scale.”

Monterro is likewise excited about the partnership. Monterro’s Leif Bohlin, who will serve as the new Chairman of the Board, said: “The UNIwise team has built something quite special, and we now join forces to unlock the next stage.”

Together with Leif Bohlin, Fabian Folcker and Daniel Mogerud from Monterro will join the Board of UNIwise, on which Rasmus and Steffen will also serve. Steffen and Rasmus will continue as daily executive leaders at UNIwise.
